Double dimension of copyright: Access to culture and copyright

Authors

Abstract

The following article aims to describe and analyze the copyright as a double-dimension human right that includes both the right of access to culture and copyright itself. For this purpose, firstly, the authors identify and characterize the so-called cultural rights, and then describe the right of access to culture as a cultural right. The double dimension of copyright is then proposed as a correct way to interpret the obligations of the international human rights instruments in this area, and examines the internal limits that mold the scope and effects of these rights.
